AUGUST INTAKE

The August intake has been introduced to cater for students who cannot enroll in time to commence their studies in Semester 2 of the Academic Calendar. The School of Information Technology courses available for the August intake are:

1.    Bachelor of Computer Science
2.    Bachelor of Information Technology & Systems

School of Information Technology students commencing in August will begin their course by enrolling in two elective units from either School of Business or School of Social Arts & Science and proceed to take up two Business elective units in the Summer Semester. Upon completion of these four units, students will continue their course of studies in February/March 2011.

The two School of Arts & Social Sciences elective units offered in August are:

•    COM1020: Introduction to Communication Studies
•    INT1020: Contemporary Worlds 2

The two School of Business elective units offered in August are:
•    AFW1000: Principles of Accounting & Finance
•    MKW1120: Marketing Theory & Practice

The two Business elective units offered in summer semester will be confirmed at a later date.

This program of study would ensure the possibility of students completing their IT courses in 3 years, provided students commencing in August progress well throughout the course without any failure of units. It should be noted that there is no choice of ‘elective’ units for August intake and summer semester other than the Arts and Business electives listed above.
