The Bachelor of Information Technology & Systems (3334)

The structure of the BITS is very straightforward: 6 core units, 2 industry project units, 8 electives with an FIT code, and 8 electives with any code. 4 of the 16 electives must be at level three, and no more than 7 of them can be at level one.

Monash University defines a major as a minimum of 48 credit points (8 units) in a field of study or discipline, including a minimum of 12 points (2 units) at both the second and third year levels. A minor is defined as a minimum of 24 credit points (4 units) in a field of study or discipline, over a minimum of two year levels. When a student completes all of the requirements for a major, a note of this achievement is added to the official transcript that lists all of the units that student has taken. When a student completes all of the requirements for a minor, the School issues a certificate that recognises this achievement. Majors and minors do not appear on the BITS degree certificate (testamur).
